Week 4 Reflection and Activity

Image
During the 4th week of the class, we had an online zoom meeting instead as our lecturer was not able to arrive back at campus in time. During the online class conducted, I was taught on how to do panning and how to show envelope and use it either on the clip or the track itself. We were taught that doing panning and using envelopes is better to be done on track as it is easy to use the keyframe to change them. I was assigned to create sound scenario based on the given pictures. This is also one of the method to be used for the first assignment we are going to do soon. Figure 4.1: Environment 1 Figure 4.2: Sounds used for Environment 1 All of the audio source came from freesound.org. The sound consist of vent fan sound, walking sound, which is panned to the left, the container water sound with layering, and computer sounds on the left and right side of the picture. Week 3 Reflection and Activity

During the third week, I was taught on the methods of creating different sounds using the same mp3 file through the use of sound designing such as the following: Layering: Using two or more sounds to layer onto one another to create a unique sound effect. Time-Stretching/Time Compression: Increasing and stretching the song length without changing the pitch. Pitch Shifting: Changing the pitch of the sound without changing the song length. Reverse: Reversing the audio or sound can make a totally different sound. Mouth: Doing the sound with the mouth, then after recording using the methods mentioned above to create more sound effect. During class we used the one explosion mp3 sound and use the sound designing method mentioned above to create a better explosion sound effect. Figure 3.1: Explosion Final This Final Explosion Sounds consist of the normal Explosion sound, the pitched and stretched explosion sound, the reverse explosion sound, the echo explosion sound, the distorted explosion s...

Week 2 Reflection + Activities

Week 2 Activities: This week I was taught on how to utilize equalizer and mirror (reflection sound) to try and make a song/sound to sound as close as to the original as possible and to utilize equalizer on how to create sounds that is suitable for certain scenarios such as Walkie talkie, phone call and much more. I used reflection on create room scenarios sounds such as airport, stadium and bathroom. This is the link to the SoundCloud that contains these sound files. https://soundcloud.com/riki-xd-618590263/sets/week-2-activity-exercise/s-gCSlpj8JID9?si=094dbbb9907f458d937af2166f4ec773&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing Figure 2.1: The image of the Soundcloud playlist.  Week 1 Reflection: Today we had an overview look on what Sonic design is and we are briefed on our assignments. We also introduced ourselves to know our other classmates even better. We were also given a tour to check the auditing room and were explained the functions of various tools there. We were also given some exercise to test our headphones/ earphones. With the activities letting us test around with equalizer, it allows me to tell the difference between audio track with different equalizer such as different bases, songs being more muffled and so on. In this exercise we are to set all the EQ sample tracks to match as near as possible to the original one, which is flat.mp3 using parametric equalizer. EQ 1 parametric equalizer to match the flat.mp3 original audio figure 1.1: EQ 1 EQ 2 parametric equalizer to match the flat.mp3 original audio figure 1.2 : EQ 2 EQ 3 parametric equalizer to match the flat.mp3 original audio figure 1.3 : EQ 3 EQ 4 parametric equalizer to match the ...
